The ancient spiritual practice of yoga promotes physical and mental wellness, reduces stress and supports the management of acute and chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, insomnia and high blood pressure. The physical aspects of yoga practice increase flexibility, strength and range of motion. Increasingly, more black people are enrolling in yoga training programs to become certified teachers to support and share this wellness practice.
