What our members and supporters are saying —

“I truly value being in the presence of awesome yoga teachers and serious yoga practitioners that look like me and my family. Hearing the experiences from other female and male yoga teachers at BYTA conferences and workshops feed my soul.”

Cheryl W.

“I love being a member of BYTA because I value serving humanity as a whole but specifically the African American community. It is necessary that our community has exemplary yoga teachers that have a shared culture and background when teaching in yoga studios, community centers, retreats, healing circles or within private groups. BYTA provides opportunities for partnerships, positive social experiences and knowledge share opportunities for black yoga teachers and the communities we serve and for that I am grateful.”

Candace M.

“During a point in time when I needed inspiration, I stumbled upon BYTA and am so glad that I did! For decades, feeling isolated as a Black person in the yoga world, it warmed my heart to know that someone valued a Kula that would identify the unique needs of Black folk interested and in love with asana as a way of life. No longer did I need to feel like a stranger in a strange land — with BYTA I am home!”
