The Radical Practice of Opening the Heart
with Leslie Booker

At times, it feels like we live in a world that only values the three poisons of Greed, Hatred and Delusion. In response, we might incline our hearts and minds towards these poisons. Audre Lorde reminds us, that “The Master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house.” So what if we chose other tools to respond with? Contemplative practices are both a turning inwards and a turning towards, offering the opportunity to liberate and build resiliency. This deeper listening can support us in creating that pause before reaction, so as to respond from a place of clarity and calm.
